Awards double for Green House Hotel and Arbor

Whether they’re global or local, here at the Green House Hotel and Arbor Restaurant we love an awards ceremony as much as the next person. It’s not what gets us up in the morning but, at the end of the day, it’s hard to beat being recognised for your commitment to excellence, by people who really know what they’re talking about.

So we are loving the fact that this month the Green House Hotel, Bournemouth’s most eco-friendly luxury boutique hotel, has two reasons to celebrate – one of them thanks to a shortlisting by one of the world’s leading guides to the best hotels, spas and venues across the globe; the other a(nother) top accolade from our very own county tourism awards.

For us, both are equally exciting. Of course, we love the fact that the Green House Hotel has been recognised as among the best eco-hotels in the world by Condé Nast Johansens, which publishes the leading guides to the best venues in the UK, Europe and the Americas. Created to reward and celebrate excellence across its collection, the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are now a trusted mark of quality for luxury consumers and travel professionals alike.

Though we’re understandably thrilled, we probably shouldn’t be that surprised that Condé Nast Johansens has shortlisted the Green House Hotel for this award – it have long recommended us on its prestigious website for “setting new standards in eco-tourism” and providing “eco-cred with creative finesse”. It loves our “quirky, sophisticated and luxurious” decor, the fact that “each member of staff is knowledgeable and genuinely friendly”; and they point out that “Arbor and the adjoining bar have become the go-to destination for locals in-the-know hankering a spot of afternoon tea, a cocktail or two and Sunday roasts as well as the hearty dinners.”

So to be recognised as The Best in its sizeable collection for Green Practices would be very much the icing on a delicious cake. The winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner at The May Fair Hotel, London on Monday 2nd November and you can guarantee the Green House Hotel will be represented at what promises to be a glitzy occasion.

But as a hotel that supports and celebrates the local in everything we do as part of our green philosophy, we also feel extremely grateful that our 2 AA rosette restaurant Arbor has been recognised for the third year running in the Dorset Tourism Awards. After all, the judges really know a thing or two about what brings people to this beautiful corner of England – and keeps them coming back.

Our menus at Arbor Restaurant combine sustainable and ethical sourcing of ingredients, which celebrates and supports local Dorset suppliers wherever possible, with unpretentious precision-cooking to provide an eating out experience recognised as second to none in the area.

To win the award for Best Restaurant, following on from last year’s Dorset Tourism Gold Trophy for Eating Out, is a real honour. It’s a hat-trick for us, as Arbor has won every year since the launch of the Dorset awards in 2013. It also means we will automatically again go through to the South West Tourism awards where we did so well last year – and possibly even the VisitEngland awards next year!

A huge thanks to all our lovely customers who have voted for us and who continue to support us. Why not book a table now for the launch of our delicious Winter Menu at the end of the month, book yourselves in for a much-needed autumn break, or look at our Christmas/New Year brochure?
