Following on from the success of English Oak’s Lunch Club in July earlier this year, we’re delighted to welcome Mount Difficulty Vineyard to our next event on Thursday 25th September, all the way from Bannockburn in New Zealand. You will be provided with exquisite food, sourced from within Dorset and Hampshire. Great food deserves great wine – let us match the two for you!

Mt Difficulty Estate is comprised of six vineyards – Templars Hill, Pipeclay Terrace, Menzies Terrace, Mansons Farm, Target Gully and Long Gully – all located within Central Otago. The region provides New Zealand’s only ‘continental’ style climate, and when combined with its unique soils, creates the perfect environment for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.

Mt Difficulty owns some of the oldest vineyards in the Bannockburn region of Central Otago. Its unique vine age gives the wines extra complexity and concentration, whilst its sweet soils help the grapes produce their best wines. Join us on the 25th September, where they will be talking about their very popular Pinot Noir.

As you may well know already, here at The Green House Hotel and Arbor Restaurant, it’s very important to us to treat the environment in an ethical and responsible way. That’s why we’re delighted to have Mt Difficulty Wines as our key speaker – not only do they operate a low energy input winery, they’re also an accredited member of the Sustainable Winegrowing Initiative (SWNZ) and consistently seek out innovative technology to keep ahead of current practice. They say: “Our philosophy combines ethical viticulture with minimal intervention allowing the wine to express its personality and reflect its home.”
