Here at the Green House Hotel, Bournemouth’s eco-friendly luxury boutique hotel, Graduation Day celebrations are a big deal for us. We totally get the huge mix of emotions that comes with this unique occasion  – the ceremonial ending of one phase and the start of something else.

The big day arrives, and it’s the only time in your adult life you are happy to wear a silly hat in public. God knows you’ve earned it – pulled all nighters for it, turned off your phone for it, put on ten pounds for it. And, after all that, sacrificed a gorgeous updo for it.

It’s the culmination of at least half a decade of exams, the constant seasonal cycle of slog and stress and sleep deprivation. The excited-scared feeling that comes with moving on, even if you don’t know exactly where to yet. And the sheer pride and relief that can make for happy tears after a couple of glasses of prosecco.

As with any special occasion at Bournemouth’s Green House Hotel, Graduation Day celebrations are totally centred on you. It could be a summer lunch from the a la carte menu – perhaps alfresco on the hotel lawn if the weather permits. Or a sumptuous dinner either in one of our private event rooms or in The Green House Hotel’s 2-AA rosette restaurant, Arbor (it’s Latin for tree, keep up grads!).  Bring your own table decorations, Graduation Day cake, photographs, banners – or, if you prefer, let our events team decorate the room for you according to your chosen theme.

The Green House Hotel offers 32 stunning rooms for Graduates and their guests. All our rooms are beautifully furnished with bespoke, hand crafted furniture that has been made in the UK using natural and sustainable materials. Rooms fall into four categories – small double, double, large double and master double.

Bournemouth University’s Graduation Ceremonies take place this year from 3 November to 6 November at the Bournemouth International Centre, while Arts University grads get their big day on 3 July at the Pavilion Theatre. But be warned – we book up quickly during these periods, so we advise you to make your reservation as soon as possible.
