This is a hotel that takes pride in all it does. Cutting edge design and technology with an environmental conscience. Enthusiastic staff, first class food. May 2011

“Really Fab” – I came along with my partner who was attending a three day conference in Bournemouth. We loved the hotel. It was extremely well run with delightful staff; nothing was too much trouble. We had a luxury double room and probably had the most comfortable nights sleep whilst we were there than we had had in a long time; very comfortable bed and lovely room.
Breakfasts were delicious; food prepared and cooked to a very high standard, Breakfast room nice and airy. The Bar area was well staffed and very comfortable.
As our stay went on, we appreciated more and more the high standard that was practised at this beautiful Hotel.
Will definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Try and book a luxury double! May 2011

Would recommend this hotel for any one looking for something a bit different in Bournemouth – great location, nicely furnished and great coffees! May 2011

“Amazing food”

Date of review: 28 Apr 2011
I have dined at this restaurant a couple of times now and the food only gets better. Both times we have taken the Tasting Menu and opted not to open the menu but to let the chef surprise us instead. The 5 course Tasting Menu with incorporated wines is a brilliant treat and you know that you get excellent quality for your money and not having to think what to order or which wine would suit the course best just adds to the pleasure of dining out. The courses are well sized and the time between them gives you time to discuss the course as well as have time for the food to settle before your next course.

The staff are quick and helpful and attend to your needs whatever they may be and are happy to tell you more about the food and wine you are enjoying if you wish.

I definetely recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food and wine in a stylish environment. I will most certainly go back there for another Tasting Menu.

“9 Courses of sumptiousness”
5 of 5 stars
My husband and I were celebrating his birthday which falls (unfortunately) very near to the Valentines Day madness. We were staying very centrally in a rather Art Deco flavoured building but chose to eat in another venue.
I had chosen to book our dinner with the Green House Hotel because they were offering a 9 course meal.. perfect to celebrate a birthday and not necessarily chocolate hearts!
We were thrilled and delighted with the smiles and warm vibe of the restaurant and bar were we say happily having our glass of fizz. We were helped with our choices of the Wine list (excellent suggestions) based on the variety of courses & escorted to our table. Some delicious fresh bread first and then the Espuma of Garlic and artichokes.. frothy warm soup of deliciousness.
Lovely mixtures of porks, beetroots, beef steaks, scallops, all beautifully laid out on the plates. the presentation was perfect. Then the puds- delicious little ramekins filled with sweets. Excellent. Another plus- the waiters all knowledgeable about what was being presented and therefore you were fully informed about what delight you would be eating next.
The whole evening was such a lovely treat for us- couldn’t have had a more special evening. Even a free glass of bubbly on the house for my Husband’s birthday- over and above the call of being a dutiful restaurant! Everyone all smiles, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly: we will definitely go back again.. Perhaps this time to actually stay in the hotel itself. February 2011

At last – I have been a regular visitor to Bournemouth and finding a decent hotel has been a challenge. Looks like I have finally found one. Modern, tidy, clean and quite chic. Feb 2011

Visited for a weekend away, loved this hotel and sure to go back! The hotel is very modern and staff are extremely helpful. I decided to book into a standard double room. Originally i was worried about the size of the room, was pleasantly surprised to find how large and beautiful it was. The beds are extremely comfortable and had a great night sleep both nights, the shower and bathroom were extremely clean and spacious. Can’t fault the room, i would want this as my bedroom at home – its that nice! Feb 2011

“Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed in”
It is difficult to know where to start a review for a hotel and restaurant combination that is almost certainly the best we have ever stayed at. The levels of service are what every hotel should aspire to, without being pretentious or making you feel uncomfortable (as some 5 star hotels manage to do). The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, showing huge attention to detail, even down to providing ‘real’ milk in a fridge at the end of the corridor for your morning tea. The crowning glory however is the restaurant, which is of the very highest order, in terms of the quality of ingredients and the preparation and presentation of (in my opinion anyway) food which is very close to Michelin standards. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you get the opportunity, stay here and eat here, you will not be disappointed. February 2011.

“excellent hotel”
Booked for a couple of days to relax and do very little. This hotel is exactly as presented in its PR material. There has been a great deal of attention to detail in the furnishing and design. The food and service is of a good standard. I didn’t feel like we had been ripped off and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this hotel. January 2011

Our stay at the hotel was amazing! I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay somewhere that makes you feel special and like you’ve been spoilt! Our room was the best hotel room that I have ever stayed in, it was absolutely beautiful and the bathroom was superb :o) January 2011

Fabulous accommodation
I had a lovely stay at The Green House. The staff were very accommodating and my room was clean and modern. l was very impressed that the business lived up to its sustainability standards. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay at the Green House again. December 2010

A fantastic hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. November 2010

I wanted to experience a “Green” hotel. I was very impressed and felt well informed about their efforts to be as eco friendly as possible. The hotel has been restored beatifully, fabulous beds and great food. November 2010

It was overall an excellent stay. The room was simply lovely, the food was delicious and so was the wine on their list. The hotel is very stylish and offers a homly feeling right away when one enters. November 2010

Stayed one night here on bonfire night, it is a fantastic hotel aside from the well thought out green credentials from paint, wallpaper and textiles to non shatter glasses.
The room was stylish, modern and comfortable with an amazing shower in the sleeping area, it had nice touches such as a fridge on each floor providing fresh milk, well placed sockets, hairdryer etc.
The bar is welcoming and stylish, had the 5 course tasting menu at dinner which was interesting, well presented and had fantastic flavours each course better than the last. The staff were very knowledgeable about the food and enthusiastic.
Great modern take on traditional breakfast too.
Professional service with flair and personality would reccomend to anyone. November 2010

We stayed here for 2 nights without our toddler and the aim was to spoil ourselves and it was the best weekend away we have had in a long time. The hotel room was really luxurious, great decoration, beautiful bathroom and gorgeous toiletries (I even bought the lotion when we left). The staff were incredibly friendly, breakfasts delicious and lasted us until late afternoon.

We went to the bar for drinks both evenings which was trendy but comfortable and enough people to give it a good atmosphere but still always seats available. We didn’t eat there as had made other plans but am sure it would be delicious if the breakfast was anything to go by.

I normally find something to pick up on at a hotel but couldn’t fault this one and the fact it was eco friendly just made us feel even better! November 2010

Loved, loved, loved this hotel. We stayed at one other Bournemouth hotel which was way more expensive and supposedly high end and it had that early 1990’s vibe which spanked of “you are in Bournemouth in the high season – value for money is not an option”. We were losing all hope that sophistication and service had found their way to Bournemouth when we discovered this gem.

Even if you aren’t into green and sustainable (which we are), it is still an awesome hotel choice. Rooms are very stylish with claw-foot tubs, great beds, linens and the usual up-scale accoutrements.

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly while maintaining a respectful distance: perfect.

Gordon, their resident chef is a marvel. The food was so inventive and yet the notes blended perfectly for every dish.

We overslept a couple of times and they made us breakfast all the same. My partner doesn’t drink so they adapted every dish to meet his needs.

And did I mention that dinner was 25 pounds a head? It would have easily been 80 pounds or so in London or New York.

Don’t even think about going anywhere else in Bournemouth.

The Green House is the place to be. November 2010

Fantastic hotel
Superb service & excellent standard of hotel. Will not stay in any other hotel in Bournemouth in future, thank you. October 2010

A lovely place to stay
My partner and I enjoyed a fabulous stay in The Green House hotel from start to finish. The room was small, but lovely and the quailty of everything from the sheets to the soap was excellent. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening and were very impressed with the diverse and impressive menu. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! Thank you. October 2010

Fantastic hotel
Superb service & excellent standard of hotel. Will not stay in any other hotel in Bournemouth in future, thank you. October 2010

I stayed at the Green House for one night & was more than pleasantly surprised. The rooms are elegant, modern and very clean. The service at reception, bar & restaurant was exemplary. The food (verging towards nouvelle cuisine if volume is your thing) was beautifully presented, freshly cooked, very tasty and good value from a chef of this calibre. Can’t think of a downside. October 2010

Last time we stayed in Bournemouth we were very disappointed with our hotel, so we were delighted to find the Green House Hotel. The hotel did not disappoint on any level – the rooms were beautifully appointed, the bathrooms to a very high standard and the communal areas very clean and welcoming. We ate both supper and breakfast at the hotel and on both occasions the food was excellent. October 2010.

We found ”The green house” on trip advisor and although at the time there were only a few reviews, after looking at their website our minds were made up! We arrived on a bit of a cold rainy friday afternoon to stay all weekend and instantly felt cozy and ”at home” the moment we stepped inside. The reception staff were friendly and informative and as soon as we were shown to our room we knew we had made the right choice! The room was simply gorgeous… decorated to a very high standard and super modern! The roll top bath in the corner of the room (next to the beautiful fireplace) definitley made it even more special…we were definitley glad we paid a bit extra for it! The room is kitted out with an eco friendly hairdryer and kettle which were great and no different to standard versions… also fresh milk was kept in a fridge just down the corridor which made a nice change from the not so nice powdered/UHT milk supplied in most hotel rooms. The organic toiletries in the room were also just lovely…. and plentiful so there is no need to bring your own shampoo and shower/bath cream…the shower was also amazing!! The location is another big bonus to this hotel – literally a two minute walk to the cliff top where you can get a lift (or just walk a bit further down) to the beach below. The town centre is also just a short walk away… about 10 minutes max! Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to eat dinner at the hotel as had made other plans, however, the fresh organic breakfast served every morning was delicious!! We would defintley reccomend this hotel to couples/friends and we cannot wait to come back and stay again! Thank you the Green house… keep up the good work :-) September 2010

To the team at The Green House,

My husband & I stayed with you in August for one night only (unfortunately) & I have been meaning to send you a quick thank you to say how much we enjoyed our short stay.

It is fantastic to now have a world class hotel in Bournemouth- we return to the U.K each year (Bournemouth particularly as it is where my husband grew up) & in the past have always struggled to find good accommodation…you have solved our problem & we will certainly return!
I really loved the ‘house’ water in our room, cold & ready for our arrival & the house-made biscuits! My husband was really blown away by the standard of the room service menu (Fish & Chips) & the a la carte breakfast we enjoyed the next day. There were many clever little touches that really made our stay memorable & the Green house stand apart from others we have stayed in.

On another note we had one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed in the U.K at The Green Room a few nights prior to our stay- the food was truly exceptional as was the service & the wine list! My husband & I had just completed our Sommelier studies & the Nytimber Sparkling Cuvee 2005 has stuck with me ever since & I have been telling everyone in the local industry about it! August 2010

Room was delightful, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. tTe toiletries were a revalation. The quallity of the bedding and the comfort of the bed itself made for a really good nights sleep. The breakfasts were of a consistently high standard and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. August 2010

This is the first time I have felt moved to write a review but I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The attention to detail is outstanding. The room we stayed in was luxurious with a roll top bath, walk in shower and jack and jill basins. The bed and linen were very comfortable and the room was beautifully presented with high spec fixtures and fittings. The hotel has a wonderful feel about it with high ceilings, well thought out lighting and only the best materials used. The breakfast was sublime with all the ingredients sourced locally. We visit Bournemouth 3 or 4 times a year visiting friends and family and staying in some of the nicer hotels. This is the best by some way. We will definitely return. August 2010

I must have visited Bournemouth 20 times staying in just about every 4* hotel and never have I found anything that ticks every box. This hotel is amazing, luxury and an eco concience- you would never have guessed this is the greenest hotel in the UK. The rooms are fantastic, I stayed in English Walnut – (they are all named after English Trees) the bed was so comfortable and the bedding I just wanted to take home. If that wasnt enough, the food was reason in itself to stay here. I always come on business but now i want to come with my wife for a weekend of pure indulgence. August 2010

We really enjoyed our stay in the Green House which was due to the good service received from all the staff in the hotel. Our room was small but very cosy and modern. The bathroom facilities were excellent. We thought that the food men was very intersting and particularly enjoyed the rustic home made breads and the good selection of French wines. Most of all we liked the hotel interior with its emphasis on green and organic. August 2010

Married middle aged couple
Elegant hotel, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and furnished (given me a few ideas for the colour scheme in my own house),extremely comfortable, very quiet bedrooms, staff ivisible until needed. The food was amazing,so original, served and presented in an amazing style – we ate in every evening, contrary to our usual habit. We cannot wait to go back! August 2010

Booked only a few days before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but The Green House in Bournemouth was a great little find. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room great with the most comfortable bed ever, and the breakfast in the morning was lovely. Didn’t explore the grounds too much as it was raining, but certainly seemed a nice spot to take in the sun, and the bar as well was pretty impressive. All this, and knowing we were doing our bit for the environment too left us checking out with a rosy, virtuous glow! August 2010

Loved the room. Bath in main bedroom with low lighting, large walk in shower in bathroom. Big bed to relax on. Really enjoyed our honeymoon weekend get away before family holiday the following week. August 2010

Very friendly atmosphere, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. August 2010

Everything that we hoped it would be
What a wonderful place to stay, friendly and helpful staff and an absolutley fantastic room. No it wasn’t cheap but for a treat it’s a must.Lovely garden and very quiet but only a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of the town and sea front, also the BIC where we going that evening. That’s why we had no time to eat which is a shame, because the menu looked very inviting. Will have to treat ourselves again. AUgust 2010

‘Loved this hotel, a real bonus for Bournemouth. The quality of the room was so good. The shower in particular was extra special. Everything from the bed to the luxurious products was a delight and we had such a great time. You must go! Oh, and the breakfast, wow!!’ July 2010

‘I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was stunning, as was the whole hotel. We had a wonderful stay; we loved everything about this hotel and will hopefully stay there again.’ July 2010

‘We stayed overnight at the Green House- it’s just openede and the interiors are very modern, clean and bright. The staff are also very friendly and professional. The food was out of this world… and this all leaves you with a fantastic glow because it’s an eco-friendly hotel. Every detail has been thought through from sourcing of the bed sheets and carpets to local food. Apparently it’s powered using solar panels too. Not that you would know it from the brilliant quality of heat, showers and the like.’ July 2010

Excellent
The hotel is simply fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated. I love the fact all was eco friendly
– even a hairdryer!!! For breakfast they had mainly organic local products. The hotel is situated just a few minutes away from the beach. Overall experience was excellent and we would definitely come back here. July 2010

“Outstanding. Five star standard couple found perfection. Couldnt fault anything. Will definately return and recommend.” July 2010

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was stunning, as was the whole hotel. We had a wonderful stay, we loved everything about this hotel and will hopefully stay there again.” June 2010

The staff were wonderful, well trained and couldn’t do enough to help. The room was lovely, had a large and extremely comfortable bed, beautiful furniture and a free standing bath in its own area of the room. In fact the bed was so comfortable we accidentally fell asleep and ended up eating in the hotel restaurant. So glad we did, we had a fantastic 6 course tasting menu (1 regular, 1 vegetarian) which was every bit as good as similar I have had in well known restaurants in London and for a fraction of the price. Lovely bar and garden area and a stones throw from the beach and Bournemouth town centre. Will definitely stay here again if I find myself in Bournemouth.Highly recommended. June 2010

“My Husband and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night and I wish we had stayed longer! A wonderful newly refurbished hotel with a fantastic eco concept. It was great finding out about everything down to the wallpaper, furniture, carpets etc. I’m not very eco friendly myself but it made me think about everything i purchase at home.
The hotel is in a great location and it is very friendly. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant and we chose the 9 course taster menu for £45 per head. Well what can i say, it was a totally amazing experience, the food was divine and great value for money. The wine and spirits are also reasonably priced. I will most definitely be going back and I can’t wait to eat in the restaurant again. ” June 2010

“What a gorgeous hotel The Green House is, from it’s airy reception, friendly and relaxed bar, superbly comfortable rooms with fantastic en-suite facilities and toiletries to the excellent food in the restaurant. This is somewhere I would recommend and definitely want to re-visit.” June 2010

“We stayed overnight at the Greenhouse – its just opened and the interiors are very modern, clean and bright. The staff are also very friendly and professional. The food was out of this world…and this all leaves you with a fantastic glow because its an eco-friendly hotel. Every detail has been thought through from sourcing of the bedsheets and carpets to the local food. Apparently its powered using solar panels too. Not that you would know it from the brilliant quality of heat, showers and the like..” June 2010

A must
“Quality hotel, really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer than just one night. Have already recommended to all of our friends and family. Will definitely be back.” May 2010

“Stayed at the Green House Hotel in Bournemouth last weekend (14-16 May 2010). It was an amazing experience.
We were greeted warmly by reception before being informed of our upgrade (yippee!) and led to our rooms. Since there was several of us it gave us a chance to look in each others rooms (which are all individual) and coo over them all. As well as a bathroom, mine had a freestanding bath in the room, which not only is bang on trend but allows you to watch TV whilst languishing in the bath! Had bar food on the first night and had the tasting menu in the restaurant on the second night. The food was out of this world – scruptious and beautifully presented. Everything is homemade and locally sourced. When you read about the hotel in the info pack in the room you realise just how much effort has been made to make the place eco-friendly. Indulging has never felt so guilt free! We are definitely going back.” May 2010

Ecotastic!!
“Loved this hotel, a real bonus for Bournemouth. The quality of the room was so good. Theshower in particular was extra special. Everything from the bed to the luxurious products was a delight and we had such a great time. You must go! Oh, and the breakfast, wow!! ” May 2010

Incredible
“From the moment my wife and I walked into the hotel we were so impressed. Thanks to late rooms we have been staying in our fair share of hotels and the Green House surpasses all others! Our room oozed with decadence and chic with a roll top bath and walk in shower. We were in two minds whether to eat in the restaraunt, to be honest the thought of smoked eel on the taster menu wasn’t so appealing and my wife and I contemplated cancelling our reservation. We are so glad we didn’t the food was amazing with impecible service to match. The staff in the whole hotel were so helpfull and enthusiastic about everything they do so if you’re thinking about staying here you’re wasting valuable time, use late rooms, book and indulge!!” May 2010

Stylish and different. Great room, reasonable price, very comfortable bed and fabulous bed linen. Delicious food, thoughtfully prepared. Pretty unusual for Bournemouth judging by what else we saw. December 2010

I didn’t stay at this hotel but booked for a pre-Christmas lunch with my daughter. The service and attention was excellent and the meal was exquisite. The flavours, food combinations and tastes were fantastic – the chef certainly knows how to ‘wow’ the diner. The hotel hasn’t been open long so it was rather quiet. However, I am sure once it’s reputation is established it will be buzzing…….We will definitely be recommending the restaurant to family and friends and if anyone is looking for a lovely boutique hotel which is a cut above the normal seaside hotel, this is a must. December 2010

Fantastic. Don’t miss this one.
Took me far too long to find The Green House. Once you’ve stayed here you will not stay anywhere else in Bournemouth – as long as you can stay at the discounted prices. The full rate is way out of my price range, but staying here for £70 – £90 a night is a great experience. Do not miss the dinner. December 2010
