2017 – A Year of Awards for The Green House Hotel

2017 was a great year for the hotel and our guests. You voted us Best Green Hotel in UK & Ireland at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards, we’ve been shortlisted for Best Boutique Hotel in the 2017/18 South West Tourism Awards, (winner announced Feb 1st), won the same category at the Dorset Tourism Awards and we’re a regional finalist in the 2018 Wedding Industry Awards. Our 2 rosette restaurant, Arbor, also added to its award shelf with a Michelin Plate recommendation in recognition of the exceptional a la carte and set menus head chef Andy Hilton creates using the finest regional produce. But of all our awards, our favourite this year came from a local Bournemouth school that gave us a commendation at their annual Earth Charter awards judged by the children.

Everything we do at the Green House is aimed at providing you a luxury experience with minimal environmental impact. We’ve always believed that being green doesn’t mean having to be worthy. Produce is fresher and tastes better when you lower the food miles. Sourcing furnishings and fittings ethically often means discovering hidden design gems, and insisting on natural, organic bedding and cleaning methods in our rooms guarantees superior comfort for our guests, and greater accessibility for those with allergies. You seemed to agree in 2017 as we finished the year in second place on TripAdvisor for hotels in Bournemouth.

We’re humbled but also proud of the recognition we received last year and aim to go even further this year. Everyone here from kitchen porters to hotel managers believes in what we’re doing. It’s why we hired them in the first place, and it’s why we have such a happy staff. Luxury, sustainability and good times are compatible. And they don’t have to cost you the earth either.
