The countdown to Christmas has begun here in Bournemouth! And at the Green House, Bournemouth’s most eco-friendly luxury boutique hotel, we are gearing up for a December full of fun, fizz and flavours.
Arbor Restaurant, the Green House Hotel’s 2 AA rosette eaterie, was voted the top restaurant in Dorset in both the 2014 and 2015 Dorset Tourism Awards. Head Chef Andy Hilton is currently planning for a whole month of four-course festive dinners and lunches, party buffets, as well as our spectacular seven-course Christmas tasting menu (still a few places left, so pick up the phone or email us!) At £78 per person, we defy you to find food of this quality for this price anywhere else in Dorset. For more info, you can download our Christmas brochure here.
Why not make this incredible culinary experience the centrepiece of a special festive stay in Bournemouth? We may be a little biased, but we heartily recommend this welcoming seaside town and the surrounding area of Dorset as the perfect destination for a Christmas break. With plentiful shopping opportunities, Christmas market and Gardens of Light Festival with outdoor ice-rink, there’s so much to do. For £260 per night for a two-night break with two adults sharing to include dinner, bed and breakfast each night with Christmas lunch, or a Three Night Package at £225 per night, you will find a beautifully furnished room with bespoke, hand crafted furniture made in the UK using natural and sustainable materials, a 32” LED flat screen TV, Bose sound dock, luxurious goose down duvets and crisp white organic bed linen.
And for a bit of entertainment, here are a few extra-curricular activities you might like to fit in between meals!
Christmas Market Bournemouth
November 12, 2015 – January 3, 2016
Open daily (except for Christmas Day) featuring a range of Alpine-style stalls selling a range of festive treats, handmade crafts and of course the Moose Bar! There’s also a stage with live entertainment.
Gardens of Light Festival
November 19, 2015 – January 3, 2016
Set to return to Bournemouth for a third year with even more interactive fun and lighting. Explore the Light Pods, see the gardens transformed, and it’s all for free.
Bournemouth Gardens Outdoor Ice Rink
November 19, 2015 – January 3, 2016
Open every day except Christmas day, it’s the perfect place to get in the festive spirit – take a spin on real ice under the trees or stay rinkside and snuggle up with a menu of warming food and hot drinks. There will also be a full bar serving mulled wine and cider, craft beers and, of course, champagne.
Christmas Festive Glow at Corfe Castle
December 4, 2015 – January 3, 2016
An illuminated Christmas route takes you into the heart of the magic as the Norman ruins are bathed in atmospheric light. Flames dance from medieval beacons scattered around the castle grounds, while braziers add warmth and intimacy, and stylish contemporary lanterns pick out intriguing spaces with candlelight.
White Christmas Dip, Boscombe Pier
December 25 @ 9:45 am
Now it’s not compulsory, but before you indulge, why not take a morning dip in the sea in fancy dress and help raise money for Macmillan Caring Locally? Last year the hardy swimmers managed to raise in excess of £25,000 with over 600 particiapants – this year they hope to break the 800 barrier. Could you be one of them? Needless to say, if you are, we will have the hot water bottle and warming hot toddy ready when you return!
