The Green House is a stunning wedding venue in Bournemouth providing attention to detail and luxury that is unrivalled. We cater for wedding breakfasts of up to 70 guests inside (we can cater for higher numbers in a marquee on our lawn) and evening receptions to 100. We are able to offer exclusive use of the hotel and never cater for more than one wedding on any given day. Wedding proposals

We’ll do the planning; you just need to be creative and ask the question!

Wedding planners are well established, but what about some help with the first step…the BIG question!?? You only get one chance so let us help you to make it perfect!

It goes without saying that your evening will end with Champagne and a stay in one of our romantic, luxurious bedrooms, complete with rose petals on the bed, but how else can we help? What else will make that magical moment perfect? …candlelit dinner on the lawn; a luxurious picnic hamper; fireworks and bubbles on the beach; a flash mob in the restaurant, the list is endless. Whatever you decide, we can make it happen!

Prices start from £285 for a one night stay in a luxurious large double room with roll top Victorian bath, a bottle of Champagne (you tell us when you would like it!), rose petals on the bed, 4 course dinner from our a la carte and full New Forest breakfast in the morning. At The Green House, our philosophy is to work closely with you every step of the way to design the wedding ceremony of your dreams, and the party of your life.

For a really magical, intimate occasion, we can even arrange for you and your guests to have the whole place to yourselves for a full 24 hours. Think of it as your own perfect wedding bubble, where everything can be exactly the way you want it – and you really can dance like no-one is watching.

During the time that it’s all yours, we want The Green House wedding venue in Bournemouth to feel like home, only better: elegant but totally comfortable, stylish but informal. And with your own personal staff, of course. We specialise in the sort of attentive but unstuffy service that makes you and your loved ones feel completely taken care of, yet as relaxed as if you were in your own living room.

With the run of the place, you can use our gloriously restored, Grade-II listed Victorian villa and gardens as a stunning private backdrop for your photographs. And though we say it ourselves, the old place does look good. Retaining all the charm of its beautiful period bone structure, we’ve gently teased it into the 21st century with Farrow & Ball eco-paints and bold feature wallpapers in a modern, muted palette; tactile natural textiles; and sculptural accessories. Plus, thanks to the huge windows and high ceilings, it’s flooded with the pure seaside light that makes our south-coast location feel so special – and your pictures look great.

With no other guests to cater for, our head chef Andy Hilton and his team can focus totally on you and yours. Whether it’s your sit-down wedding breakfast, evening buffet or morning-after feast (with organic Bloody Marys if required), Andy will create a unique menu for you using his passion for local, seasonal ingredients and his detailed knowledge of your personal likes and dislikes.

We’ve also got the sustainability side of things covered so that you can celebrate your conjugals with a clear conscience. If you have any specific priorities of your own, just ask – we will answer you honestly and openly and work with you to make sure you are happy with every single aspect of your exclusive-use package.

The Eco-Wedding
For a totally luxurious yet low-impact celebration, look no further. As the greenest hotel in the UK, we’ve got this covered!

The package includes:

  • Hire of the Arbor restaurant (which has the highest possible rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association) for your ceremony and wedding breakfast
  • A pre-reception organic cocktail for each guest
  • A seasonal, Dorset-sourced 3-course wedding breakfast designed around your personal likes and dislikes, along with fair-trade coffee
  • A half-bottle of organic wine per person
  • A glass of sparkling wine for each guest from a Poole vineyard for the toast (delivered to us by electric car!)
  • Unlimited still and sparkling house-filtered water
  • New-Forest bacon butties for your evening reception
  • Overnight accommodation for the wedding couple in our eco-Honeymoon Suite
  • A Buck’s-Fizz New Forest breakfast for the wedding couple.

The Afternoon-Tea Wedding
Informal yet sophisticated and very, very pretty… Afternoon Tea is fast becoming the wedding theme of choice for couples who want something a little bit different from the traditional 3-course wedding breakfast. So go on – let them eat cake!

The package includes:

  • Hire of the Arbor restaurant for your afternoon tea
  • A glass of sparkling wine for each guest on arrival
  • Traditional afternoon tea with a range of finger sandwiches, Chef’s sweet fancies, and warm homemade scones with Dorset cream and handmade preserves
  • Fairtrade tea and coffee – choose from our range of organic and green teas or something more traditional
  • Unlimited still and sparkling house filtered water
  • A glass of pink sparkling wine per person for the toast
  • Chair covers and sashes to match your colour scheme
  • Personalised place cards for each guest to your own seating plan
  • Stunning silver candelabras for your table centrepieces decorated with your choice of flowers
  • Cake stand and knife
  • A personal Wedding Planner who will design your celebration to your own specification and co-ordinate everything on the day

Available: for new bookings Sundays to Thursdays only, when booked and held within six months.
Price: 40 guests for £1,800

  • £50 per additional adult
  • £30 per additional child
  • Maximum 70 day guests
  • Add an evening reception to include DJ and canapes for 40 guests for an extra £800.

Please note:
for Civil Ceremonies there is a £300 venue hire fee for our Private Events room. It is the bridal couple’s responsibility to book and pay for the Registrar.
