Meet the Team

Here at the Green House, Bournemouth’s eco-friendly luxury boutique hotel, we’ve got an amazing team of individuals who get a real kick out of making every guest’s stay memorable. Christmas is a rare opportunity for them to get together and celebrate in the Green House’s beautiful surroundings.

This year’s party theme was Superheroes. We’d thought we’d share a few photos with you, and while we’re at it, introduce some of the people behind the masks.

Beth Challoner, Guest Relations Manager

My job involves… making  guests feel they are truly welcomed by the hotel and they have a fabulous stay.

I love my job because… I get to meet and chat to a variety of different people from all walks of life. Our guests make the hotel, we are lucky to have a great clientele here at The Green House.

My favourite thing about the Green House is… its core eco values and team ethos. Being such a small hotel we all work so closely together and this really highlights our team spirit.

My favourite thing to do on days off is… relax and explore! I love good food and wine. Dorset is home to some amazing places so I explore when I can and sample the culinary delights.

If I were a real superhero, my superpower would be…the power to cure sadness! No one should be unhappy –  I’d sprinkle happy dust around!

Agnieszka (Aga) Mielech, Food & Beverage Manager

My job involves… managing the Arbor restaurant and Green House bar.

I love my job because… I learn new things every day, and I love team work which is really important in this industry. This year has been really exciting, with two AA rosettes for Arbor and a Gold in the Dorset Tourism Awards Eating Out category in November.

My favourite thing about the Green House is… The fact that everyone is passionate about local, sustainable, ethically sourced ingredients.

My favourite thing to do on days off is………spend time with friends (cinema, going out for lunch, ice skating in winter, volleyball on the beach in summer), and travelling to places I’ve never been.

If I were a real superhero, my superpower would be… to be Superwoman – super fast, and able to fly. It would make my job much easier!

Sarah Pavett, Events & Corporate Account Manager

My job involves… looking after and working with our corporate clients, and planning events and  weddings.

My favourite thing about the Green House is… it’s so versatile – it seems to lend itself as well to a big, even grand, wedding as to an intimate reception dinner.

I love my job because…  No two days – or weddings – are the same and I love meeting new people.

My favourite thing to do on days off is… have a lie-in and catch up with friends and family.

If I were a real superhero, my superpower would be…  To bottle the feeling our couples have on  their wedding day, so everyone could be that happy and kind to each other all the time!

Beth Coombes, Pastry Chef

My job involves… making all the cakes, pastries and desserts for the Arbor restaurant.

My favourite thing about the Green House is… the afternoon tea, which is made fresh to order  – it’s my chance to show what I can do!  There’s something really special and beautiful about our afternoon tea weddings.

I love my job because… of the creativity involved – our style is old-school classics given a modern, unexpected twist. And I love cake.

My favourite thing to do on days off is… sleep, drink tea, eat cake, play with my cat Luna. And go to cake decoration classes.

If I were a real superhero, my superpower would be… the ability to pause time, so more sleep and more time to spend with my cat. And to bake cakes. I LOVE CAKE (did I mention that?).
